Viable Placemaking assisted a client with a landmark Housing Type Needs Assessment for a scheme of 200+ units.

Earlier this year, Viable Placemaking were instructed to prepare a Housing Type Needs Assessment to be submitted as part of a local plan submission for a strategic site opportunity.

The report was specifically tailored to the client's needs, which was to review the type of housing which was needed in the site and Council area. The report considered a variety of factors, including:

  • National and Local Policy

  • Demography

  • Socio-economic and employment indicators

  • Local housing market performance

  • Housing Supply and Delivery

  • Housing for Older and Disabled People

  • Affordability

The Assessment was a complex and intricate report which was submitted as part of a wider local plan representation, seeking a strategic housing allocation in the South West.
